HUGE book. Don't know what else I was expecting, seeing as it has 1001 wines in it. Very nice presentation, lots of information about the wines listed in the book. I bought it as sort of a bucket list. Very excited to step out of my comfort zone and try some of the wine they recommend in this book.

Wide variety of wines

It's a good book of very different wines. Some are inexpensive some ultra expensive. The really nice thing is that it highlighted wineries that have other less expensive wines that I could try. It's a fun coffee table book.

I don't think I'm going to get to all 1001 wines before I die. But this book will help me choose the ones I do get to. Filled with great photos, lots of history, and all the facts you want to know about wine, this is an excellent book for both novices and knowledgable wine drinkers.

About the Author

Julia Vassilieva teaches Film and Television Studies at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. She is an author of Re-thinking the Experience of Immigration: From Loss to Gain (2010). She has published articles in a variety of journals, including Film-Philosophy, Senses of Cinema, Rouge, Cinema Studies, The New International Journal of Humanities and contributed as an editor to Transcultural Studies: A Series in Interdisciplinary Research.

Constantine Verevis is Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Studies at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He is author of Film Remakes (2006) and co-editor of Second Takes: Critical Approaches to the Film Sequel (2010). The first 100 pages ROCK!!

There is a sentence in 'Think and Grow Rich' where Napoleon Hill gives the REAL secret of success. It's only one sentence, and if the reader isn't paying close attention, he will miss it. Napoleon Hill is talking about having a plan to accumulate money, and he writes:-- "a definite plan through which you intend to EXCHANGE services or merchandise in return for the money you are visualizing."

The key word in that sentence is: EXCHANGE.

In the first hundred pages of 'The Closer's Survival Guide', Grant Cardone has really opened my eyes about the word "exchange". What Grant teaches is that "exchange" is what the close is all about!

It's been said that even if you get one idea out of a book, reading it has been worthwhile. The first 100 pages of Grant's book has absolutely changed my paradigm, and I have been involved in hardcore, straight commission sales for a long time. Infact, as of this writing, I have had the book for less than a week, and I have already read the first 100 pages over again three times! FANTASTIC!!

As far as the actual closes in the book, if you've been in sales for a long time you've probably heard a variation of these, but DO YOU USE THEM?

I have added 'The Closer's Survival Guide' to my list of favorite sales books (which are 'The Closers' by Ben Gay and 'You Can't Teach A Kid To Ride A Bike At A Seminar' by David Sandler)

Again, the first 100 pages is worth the price of the book!

I can't believe I requested to cancel my order for this book

Probably the only time in my life that I am happy a vendor ignored my request. I've been in sales for 10+ years and have a substantial library of sales books and many more that I have read with the aid of a library. I have had ups and downs in my sales career results-wise but never really could get consistent good months ever because of some disconnects I was having with really understanding in this area no matter how many books I have read. This is hands down the best book I have ever read on the most important area of the sales process and have put it in my top 5 of MUST HAVE sales books with purchasing the audio program that compliments the book highly recommended. It is that good. I read a review somewhere on Amazon that someone said this book was just all high pressure. Well, it's not high pressure if you have asked and investigated to figure out and the buyer has indicated what he/she wants and have built a solution based on the buyer's feedback. If you have done this, you have earned the right to be enthusiastic and insistent, as the author puts it, on the buyer owning what you put together for them. After all, they told you they wanted it. Just a fantastic piece of work.

I have bought this book twice. That should be enough actually right there to let you know how I feel about this material. The first copy I bought grew legs and walked off from a dealership where I used to work. So, when the black Friday special rolled aound I bought the book And the CDs. The CDs have been lent out and only some returned as Everyone that gets a taste of this wants to be able to use them to make money. This is about reasoning with people, overcoming objections, presenting everything in a positive light and CLOSING. It goes along wit hthe statement, "You drive for show and put for dough." Grant reminds us in this book that 20% of our actions make for 100% of our income. In other words, you can know everything about a product, have the absolute best customer service, and even have the prettiest smile out of every other sales consultant, but if you cannot close... you make $0. Period. I bring this book with me to work everyday and take it home every night. If you want to get serious about your lifestyle and your income... Get this book, it's Gold!

About the Author

Drew Ramsey, M.D., is a psychiatrist, author, and farmer. Dr. Ramsey is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University in New York and an attending psychiatrist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. His clinical work focuses on the treatment of depression and anxiety with a combination of psychotherapy, diet and lifestyle modification, and psychopharmacology. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Atlantic, Prevention, and Men's Journal, and he is the coauthor of The Happiness Diet. He lives in New York City with his wife and daughter.

Buy. This. Book.

I rarely review but need to this time. Dr Drew Ramsey is a genius! His book is full of invaluable information that is absolutely different from any health/diet book I've read! (I've read most of them) He has described in detail why we need to eat certain foods to feed our brain the essential nutrients it needs to keep us healthy. He tells secrets that will help stave off Alzheimers, protect from the negative effects of aging and in the process lose weight! I am lucky to already have tested some of the recipes. My favorites are the Quinoa-Mushroom Frittata, Cashew-Chocolate Smoothie, Crispy Shrimp with Greens and Beans and Rainbow Burgers with Golden Sweet Potato Fries! The recipes are delicious and certainly nutritious! I feel healthy. I Eat Complete! I highly recommend this book!

The book I've been waiting for

In a field that changes daily, if not hourly or faster, it's nearly impossible to find a course text that captures the most important skills. It's even harder to do while contextualizing the practice in such a way that students know full well they're going to have to work beyond the book to keep current and are likely to want to do it. I'm introducing this book in the fall multimedia bootcamp (16 weeks of immersion) I teach at the Cronkite School (Arizona State University). At the moment, the book's my newest BFF. Clear, intelligent, wide-ranging -- and "gets it."

Mark Luckie begins his book with the words: "If you're looking for an apocalyptic dissertation on why journalism is dying, this isn't the book for you."

I have been a broadcast and print journalist for the past twenty years and I recommend this book for any journalist or aspiring journalist who is trying to navigate the complexities of New Media. Luckie describes the skills that today's journalists need to be a proficient and confident in the world of online media.

Amazing study cram book

This textbook has put me through my two years of respiratory therapy classes. I found it in the library and have been using it ever since to study with. It is to the point and well written. I like it so much that I plan on buying it for clinical year. I am hoping that the author decides to publish a newer edition soon though. This book covers everything you will EVER be tested on. Definetly, good to have!

Keep this book on hand at work

This reference work is as dry as they come; it's also as complete and inclusive as they come. You won't find any illuminating discussions of respiratory techniques or patient management concepts here. The entire book is written in outline form -- definitely "just the facts, ma'am". You won't be tempted to stay up late reading this one for entertainment. So if you are a student, especially if you have not yet begun your clinicals, you don't absolutely need this book --- YET.

But as soon as you DO make your first appearance in a clinical setting (even as a student), make sure you always have the most current edition of this book on hand -- and keep it in your locker, or your colleagues will walk off with it. This exhaustively comprehensive reference will recall for you every little detail of a procedure or concept, all the ones that are right on the tip of your braincell and you can't quite remember them exactly. If you encounter material in the book that is gibberish to you (and you will), you can consult the equally exhaustive bibliography for citations to works that will provide you with more detailed explanations.

Think of this book as the ultimate Google for all things RT.

THE BEST OF RESPIRATORY CARE

This is the best reference book out there. The authors taught me all I ever needed to know in respiratory care and I've been a therapist and respiratory care educator for 25 years. The book is in outline form and will give you information and the facts.... It doesn't read like a novel, but you will have all of the facts you may ever need. Highly recommended. Many respiratory care instructors will hide this text from students because it doesn't give long and detailed explanations on topics. If you are a student looking for a great book you won't sell back, buy this bok. This book will be a one stop shop to study for your exams and the NBRC exams. If you are a therapist looking for one reference book---- this is it!!!!
