About the Author
H. S. Philip Wong is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, where he has worked since 2004. Prior to joining Stanford University, he spent 16 years at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, New York, where he held various positions from Research Staff Member to Senior Manager. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and his current research covers a broad range of topics including carbon nanotubes, semiconductor nanowires, self-assembly, exploratory logic devices, nanoelectromechanical devices, and novel memory devices.

Deji Akinwande is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas, Austin, which he joined after receiving his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2009. Prior to beginning his Ph.D., he gained industry experience at Agilent Technologies, XtremeSpectrum/Freescale, and Motorola. He has published widely on carbon nanomaterials.

Served a good cause

Purchased this book for a friend who has his master's in Energy Engineering. He wants to change the Energy Policy in Afghanistan and was in great need of this book. It took us over 2 months and loads of trouble to get the book there. I hope that it provided good value and became a good resource for the Engineering Faculty in Kabul University. Our goal is to build the Kabul Universities Engineering Faculty library with up to date books and reference manuals for students to be able to learn from cutting edge theories and advancments in energy sector.

About the Author
June Parsons purchased her first computer, an Apple II+, in 1981 and quickly became fluent in BASIC, dBASE II, Lotus 123, WordStar, and a variety of accounting programs. The next year she opened a successful small computer retail store with Dan Oja that also offered software instruction to children and adults. Dr. Parsons taught at the university level for more than 20 years. She holds a doctorate in Educational Technology and was certified by the ICCP in 1995. Dr. Parsons began writing and creating educational software for Course Technology in 1992. She contributed to the Windows for Business and Illustrated Series and developed the New Perspectives, e-Course, and Practical series. She works via the Internet with a team of highly skilled media specialists and desktop publishers located in various states and provinces.

An esteemed professional and respected author, Dan Oja, along with June Parsons, purchased an Apple II+ in 1981 and quickly became fluent in BASIC, dBASE II, Lotus 123, WordStar, and a variety of accounting programs. Informative book for beginners

I bought this book for a beginners class I had to take for college, and I have to say that this book is pretty awesome. It separates microsoft word, power point, excel, and access information, so its a smooth transition when your reading and learning. They also have questions and projects in the back to give you some practice. I don't know if all do - but mines did - come with a cd. The cd is the extra boost. It not only has the same notes as the book, it also makes it more interactive with u by having objects you can click and the tests at the end of the chapter. I would definitely recommend to a beginner or someone who needs to brush up on their microsoft abilities.

Paul Davidovits, Professor of Chemistry at Boston College, was co-awarded the prestigious R.W. Wood prize from the Optical Society of America for his seminal work in optics. His contribution was foundational in the field of confocal microscopy, which allows engineers and biologists to produce optical sections through 3D objects such as semiconductor circuits, living tissues, or a single cell. Dr. Davidovits earned his doctorate, masters, and undergraduate degrees from Columbia University. Prior to his appointment at Boston College, he was a faculty member at Yale University. He has published more than 150 papers in physical chemistry and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and of the American Association for Advancement of Science.
